Girl Marries Dog In Bizarre Ritual

If you think you are not being influenced by the hypnotic choice of words in the media, think again.

Here is a short video of what appears to my eye to be a beautiful, symbolic traditional ceremony. The Reuters news agency chooses the word “Bizarre” to describe it and comments on the local illiteracy and superstition.

Here’s the text that accompanies the video ”

Jan 26 – In India’s eastern Jharkhand, villagers ‘married’ off a young girl to a stray dog to ward off an evil spirit.

The locals at Munda Dhanda village performed the ceremony as they believe it will overcome any curse that might fall on the family

Interestingly, the girl is free to get married later in life to a man without even seeking a divorce.

Superstitions are widespread in India, especially in rural areas where literacy is scarce.”

There’s quite a bit of Western arrogance and condescending judgment here.  Please be aware that when you watch or listen to the news you are being subtly and or not so subtly influenced and one might even go so far as to say hypnotized.

As an NLP practitioner, it’s entertaining and amusing to see this stuff go on all around. The mental manipulation by the media is so prevalent that It boggles my mind why more people don’t learn NLP just to protect themselves from being unconsciously manipulated.

As always I welcome your thoughts and comments!

p.s. But you can’t argue with the grabbing power of that headline can you? What is it about us that is so susceptible to sensational head lines?

Mark, Yes I agree the headlines are eyecatching. I have recently found that by not watching the news on a daily basis I am much more peaceful and am still able to operate on a day to day basis wihtout feeling like I am missing anything. Who would have thought that life goes on without the broadcast news???

    Thanks for the comment Maria!
That’s one reason I always suggest to my anxiety clients that they stop watching and listening to the news. Folks with powerful imaginations and ability to make vivid internal representations can be deeply and negatively affected by negative external stimuli.

Hey Mark … I like this video but certainly not the condescending attitude. I have a wonderful loving stray cat that adopted me several years ago, who I adore and that I am very grateful to have in my life. Loving pets are such a joy and really do lift the human spirit if one allows it … love comes to us in so many different ways. So I’m thinking if one can be “married” to a job, why not to a pet? It’s about the positive symbolism of a spiritual and emotional union between two hearts and that’s always beautiful.

As to a comment on the news media… I wonder if there are any genuine reporters left that are not biased, owned and truth censored. I no longer watch TV as I know the news media is primarily owned by those in power … and … those in power have constantly shown that they lie to us on a daily basis. The days of honest journalism have changed. Now one has to really search the web for honest uncompromised and honorable news sites if one wants to find what is believed to be the truth.

My take is that our news is manipulating and just an entertaining diversion (often very negative) to keep the masses preoccupied and away from what is actually happening in our country and world and is a means of real news suppression.

So given that comment … what becomes really important to me and I’m sure to others is raising our vibrations and positive thought frequencies … and that’s why your music is so powerful and appreciated at this time to help us do that! :)
