I love how you've tackled and explained a pretty difficult and touchy subject. I think the word brainwashing has become commonly used as an excuse for people who have reasons for not having their life the way they want. Rather than taking responsibility for their own choices it's easier to blame someone else and stay stuck.

I love NLP and the power it gives individuals to make positive changes in their lives so quickly. I've dedicated my life's work to it. I enjoy your blog, you have a fun way of presenting the information. NLP isn't black magic or rocket science, it's fun and I wish they taught it in schools! Namaste.

Thanks Michael,
I thought your question merited it's own blog post. You can find it here:

you're article really hit a nerve, since my wife and i were talking about my parents recently. my dad retired 6 years ago, and my mom retired last august. and now they sit around the house, watch way too much fox news, and complain about the world. it's sad.

we used to get together and have a lot more fun. now... it's different. when they visit i'm always telling them (hey, no news, ok?) so they'll change the channel. and being self-employed for more than 5 years has made me nearly fanatical about staying positive, surrounding myself with positive people, and avoiding energy-draining negativity.

here's a question for you? why is it that bad attitudes are so contagious? any nlp wisdom for that one? and if you are around negative people and can't get away from them (i.e. you share the same office, etc.), what can you do?

thanks mark,

Ah good points, but the conditioning that we have bought into , that the world/our life sucks, creates the anxiety that pushes the muscles that press that TV on button

I love how you are tackling this issue and it is refreshing to see another like minded being who sees deep down the profound power of reality change

I am working on technologies of making reality change fun and easy, and would love your input on this topic. There is definitely a need for deep healing for this world, and what better way than to explore the fun of reality change and mindset shifting
